Edge CASINO Feb 20‐21, 2012 – On February 20‐21, 2012, the Edge School Community has a Casino. The revenue generated from this endeavour goes directly to the school to support educational and athletic programming. We need to fill a number of shifts over 2 days – no experience required. For a few short hours of your time, our kids benefit greatly. The funds we raise are critical to the continued success and improvement of the student‐athlete’s life at Edge School. As you are aware this is the second year that the Edge is aligned under the Rocky View School (RVS) jurisdiction. Rocky View made a decision that all their schools would move to a new student information system this fall. As a result of this change in system, access to HomeLogic and TeacherLogic are no longer available. As soon as is possible, access to PowerSchool will be made available for all current Edge families.

ATTENTION MEMBERS OF THE EDGE AMBASSADORS SOCIETY

As an Alumni or as a parent of a son or daughter who is currently enrolled at Edge School, you are considered a member of an incorporated society called ‘Edge Ambassadors Society’. As well, parents you are naturally a part of the parent council.

NOTICE OF MEETING - This letter is to provide you notice of the upcoming Annual Meeting (the “Meeting”) of the Members of the Society. The Meeting will be held at Edge School at 33055 TOWNSHIP ROAD 250, CALGARY, AB T3Z 1L4, on Tuesday, June 7th at approximately 8:00 p.m. immediately following the Parent Information Meeting which begins at 7:00 pm.

“Made in Calgary” Amateur Sport Head Injury Prevention Convention drawing impressive speaker/sponsor support. Calgary amateur sports leagues are taking the issue of head injuries and concussions in minor-league contact sports “head on”.

HEAD ON is a one day convention taking place at the University of Calgary’s Murray Fraser Hall on May 15, 2011. The convention’s objective is to help educate players, parents and coaches on the growing concern and emerging knowledge surrounding both the short and long term effects of sports-related head injuries. The first community-initiated gathering of it’s kind in Western Canada, HEAD ON is focused on the junior and minor-league athletic levels – where attention to the issue is largely overshadowed by the media focus on professional level incidents and controversy.
