Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) newest addition, the Edge School for Athletes, has hired a new principal and CEO all in one after founder Brent Devost stepped down from his role. Cameron Hodgson has been in education for 25 years, including the last seven at the National Sports School in Calgary, training Olympic hopefuls. His new job will see him working with kids playing hockey, golf, dance and soccer looking to become elite athletes.
Local school hosts Edge School Skill Academy

Edge School for Athletes out of Calgary has partnered with Fort McMurray Public School District to offer a unique athletic and learning program through passion-based education. A hockey program will be available to Grades 7 to 9 students at the Edge School Skill Academy Fort McMurray, launching in 2011-12 and based out of École McTavish Junior High School.
Edge Grade 10 student Ty Robinson and Edge School Director of Health Services Brady Greening were interviewed on Mon April 18 by CTV's Karen Owen. This was in follow-up to the recently published impact of concussions study by the University of Calgary. Read the full article and see the video here:
Edge School is now accepting registrations for the 2011-12 school year. Admission is available for students in Grades 5-12 for all program areas, including Hockey, Dance, Figure Skating, Golf, Soccer and the Flex Academy.
