Rocky View Schools’ (RVS) newest addition, the Edge School for Athletes, has hired a new principal and CEO all in one after founder Brent Devost stepped down from his role. Cameron Hodgson has been in education for 25 years, including the last seven at the National Sports School in Calgary, training Olympic hopefuls. His new job will see him working with kids playing hockey, golf, dance and soccer looking to become elite athletes.

Edge School would like to thank The Calgary Food Bank and Colt Cosgrave for sharing their chuckwagon with us for one night of the Calgary Stampede. Thanks to an arrangement with the Calgary Food Bank, Edge School was able to showcase the school on day three of the chuckwagon races.

"We are fortunate to have received this exposure to such a large audience at no cost to the school", commented CEO Dan Fournier. "Even better that Colt had such a great run with the second fastest time of the day. We also used the event as a opportunity to bring together our board members of the newly formed Edge School Foundation."

Local school hosts Edge School Skill Academy

“Where a passion for sport drives a passion for learning and leading.”

Edge School for Athletes out of Calgary has partnered with Fort McMurray Public School District to offer a unique athletic and learning program through passion-based education. A hockey program will be available to Grades 7 to 9 students at the Edge School Skill Academy Fort McMurray, launching in 2011-12 and based out of École McTavish Junior High School.
