Our School Philosophy is based on the truism that a passion for sport drives a passion for learning and for leading.
Edge School (Calgary) - Founded in 1999 and now located in a new 170,000 sq.ft. school and sports complex facility for students-athletes in Grades 5-12. Students can enroll in Hockey, Dance, Golf, Soccer, Figure Skating or our Flex Academy.
Enrollment: Edge School (Calgary) - In the 2011-2012 school year, 321 students are enrolled.
Class Sizes & Ratio: Small classes with ratio of 7 students : 1 faculty member. Average class size is 18-20 students.
Grades: Offering Grades 5 through 12
Academics: Advanced Placement courses offered in 1 subject. Grades are based on a percentage scale. The school year is comprised of four terms within two semesters.
Placement: 40% of Edge Alumni earn post-secondary scholarships.
Athletics: We offer skill academy programs in dance, figure skating, golf, hockey and soccer, as well as a Flex Academy for students training in other sports. We also offer participation on varsity sports teams in golf, hockey and soccer. Edge Mountaineers participate actively in the ISAA program.
Extracurriculars: Our clubs and organizations include community service and environmental concerns.
Admissions: Admission deadline is rolling.
Financial Aid: 15-20% of students receive financial aid. Financial aid is competitive.
Alumni: Over 200 Edge graduates are now continuing their passion for sport and leadership. Many are attending universities all over North America.
Partnerships: Edge School is a alternative program in the Rocky View School District (RVSD). RVSD delivers the academic curriculum portion of the Edge School (Calgary) program.
Facilities: Edge School is a 170,000 square foot facility, built in 2008 with complete academic amenities and a state-of-the-art sports complex. The Jim Davidson Sports Complex is a world-class athletic, recreational and community-use facility. Inside this 90,000 sq. ft. complex you will find 2 NHL-sized arenas, Founders & Alumni Lounge, gymnasium with 2 NBA-sized courts, high-performance training centre, 2 professional dance studios, golf centre and a sports medicine area.

Edge School Foundation: This foundation secures friends and funds through building relationships to support the Edge School in areas such as programs, scholarships, financial aid, endowment and capital campaigns.
Founded: Edge School was founded in 1999 by a group of visionary partners which included the former head of the school Mr. Brent Devost.
Affiliate Schools: Edge School partners with school districts to bring the Edge Experience to communities outside of the Calgary area. Edge School Skill Academy Grande Prairie, offering Dance and Hockey skill academies, started in 2010-11 and operates out of Alexander Forbes School in Grande Prairie. Partnering with the Fort McMurray Public School District, Edge School Skill Academy Fort McMurray will begin in 2011-12 based out of École McTavish Junior High Public School.
