He has coached at McGill in Montreal, was the founding Chairman of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) and founder of the Edge School for Athletes in Calgary but soon he will be calling Fort McMurray his home.

Fort McMurray Public School District is elated to announce Brent Devost as the Program Director of the Edge School Skill Academy Fort McMurray.

EdgeLogo_ftMc150“We are very pleased to have Brent and his family joining our Public School District and community,” said Lorraine Demers, district partnership facilitator. “Brent brings a wealth of knowledge, skill and experience in the education realm, along with building an amazing passion-based leadership model that has been very successful for all students, aligning students’ love of athletics with education and becoming productive citizens and leaders. Having been born and raised in northern Alberta, Brent is excited about returning to a northern community and has already developed many relationships with families and community leaders.”

Devost, echoed those remarks expressing his excitement for the move.

“I am pleased to be moving my family to Fort McMurray to take this on! In really wanting this program to succeed in Fort McMurray; I looked at the opportunity as a chance to create and build a program again from the ground up which is what I did in Calgary and what I supported in Grande Prairie.

“Fort McMurray is a special place with passionate people, a beautiful landscape, plenty of sport facilities and programs for our children and absolutely wonderful school administrators and teachers that I have had the pleasure of working with so far at FMPSD.”
