3 Edge Girls Receive Prestigious Invitation

Emma Pincott, Karly Heffernan, and Eden Murray have been invited to attend Canada’s National Women’s Program strength and conditioning camp, taking place May 2-6 at York University in Toronto, Ont.

The invitation list includes 57 hockey players from across Canada. Nine goaltenders, twenty defencemen and twenty-eight forwards will participate in both on- and off- ice sessions, while also being introduced to Hockey Canada’s expectations in areas such as nutrition, mental conditioning, and physical fitness.

Emma, Karly, and Eden will be eligible for Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team and Canada’s National Women’s Under-22/Development Team. Following the camp, Hockey Canada scouts will continue to evaluate all players at national team camps in August, and as they compete with their club and school teams at provincial and national events, such as the 2012 National Women’s Under-18 Championship this November in Dawson Creek, B.C.

Edge adds Bantam AAA Team for 2012-13

Edge will add another hockey team to the line up for 2012-13.

The Edge School is pleased to announce a boys Bantam AAA hockey team for the 2012-2013 hockey season. The Bantam team will play a 35-45 game schedule. While details are still being finalized, this team has made application to play in the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL www.naphl.com). As well, we hope to participate in CSSHL Showcase weekends and other tournaments.

Details such as coaching, selection process and dates, schedules and costs are still in the planning process and updates will be provided as they are available.

The creation of this team provides a unique opportunity for additional Edge student-athletes to play for Edge and enjoy all of the benefits that come when you combine a passion for sport, world-class facilities, excellent educational opportunities and high performance training in one central location. Currently Edge School ices four hockey teams at the Midget AA and Prep levels (one girls and three boys teams).
