Arianne Jones '08 wins Nations Cup; Career high 6th in World Cup Race

Edge alumni Arianne Jones (center) proudly slid to to the top of the podium to win her Nations Cup Qualification Race for the World Cup. She beat 26 other women for this win. The next day she placed 6th in the World Cup Race for a new personal best result and is now ranked 7th in the World in Womens Senior Luge. In a sport where size and weight favour the athletes, Arianne contradicts with her petite stature. Edge School's Dr. Matt Brown stated "Too small for the World Cup circuit? She begs to differ"! Congratulations Arianne.

January 24, 2012 WINTERBERG, Ger.— Arianne Jones of Calgary, edged closer to her first podium finish of her career. The 21-year-old Jones clocked a personal-best sixth-place time of 1:55.100 for her best result in her two full seasons of sliding on the World Cup squad.
