Academics

As a university preparatory program, Edge School challenges student-athletes in Grades 5-9 and 10-12 to continually achieve new levels of personal excellence.

While addressing the prescribed Alberta Education provincial learning outcomes, Edge provide a uniquely balanced curriculum ensuring our students are welcomed by some of North America’s most prestigious post-secondary institutions.

To support these goals, Edge School staff and faculty, many of whom are former athletes, take into account student academic workloads and deadlines along with their training, performance and competition schedules. We understand how student-athletes think and learn and apply a variety of teaching methods to help them succeed.

We are committed to individual attention and small class sizes to ensure our unique programs remain focused on the development of each Edge student.  We teach the critical thinking skills and learning strategies students need to become independent life-long learners.  As part of our holistic approach to student-athlete development, every Edge student has a Personal Learning Plan (PLP). PLPs are an educational tool ultimately designed to provide students with understanding, and ownership of their academic, athletic, and personal goals.
